Hyundai i40Hyundai’s new representative in the segment of the middle class, i40, will retain much of the high-tech systems concept i-Flow, shown in Geneva. This applies as for “intelligent” grille, which controls the volume of air needed for cooling the engine, the regeneration of braking energy, thermo-electric generator around the catalyst, energy supply systems in a number of additional cars, heat insulation of the engine, which keeps it warm enough at night to start the morning, even at -40 degrees. In general, all high-tech systems aim to reduce fuel consumption. This will contribute to and stop-start system for Hyundai i40, which will be installed at more basic version. Key features in the design of the i40 – hexagonal grid and undulating line passing from both sides of the car will also be maintained in future Hyundai i40, which will be available in Europe in early 2011. Chief designer of the Korean firm, Burkle, Thomas (Thomas Burkle) told journalists in Geneva: “We have built a reputation of Hyundai as a company that makes reliable cars. Now have to work on the emotions coming from the design. In Europe, will first appear wagon version of the i40, a few months later, will be launched and sedan. According to Burkle, sedan will look like a coupe rather than a hatchback.
