The new Kia Optima / Magentis is ready for its world premiere at the Motor Show in New York next month. A number of markets (including Bulgaria), this model is known as the Magentis, but in North America is Optima. The new Optima / Magentis will appear first in Korea and in North America and the Old Continent will come as the Magentis in early 2011. The first impression is that the new Magentis e far more attractive than the current model. In addition to more expressive design, the car has become longer, wider and lower than the present. This allows to increase the distance between the axles and ultimately to provide more volume and comfort in the cabin. This is needed because by this time, Kia have greater ambitions for his model of segment D – to compete with models such as Passat, Camry, and the Mondeo. Given the competition and the “kinship” Hyundai Sonata, the new Magentis will definitely not be easy. Magentis platform with Sonata. The engines will be two two-liters, one petrol and one diesel (known by the new Sportage), with maximum power 131 hp and a maximum torque of 303 Nm. At Motor Show in Chicago made its world premiere hybrid concept Kia Ray. With interesting design this car shows that green cars are not necessarily boring. The car is a work of American design center for Kia, which has done well with the task of creating a futuristic car for four passengers. The car was created based on the Kia Forte. Futuristic theme is repeated in the interior of the plug-in hybrids. All materials can be recycled, are lightweight, light colored to reflect heat emitted from sunshine in summer, thus reducing the need to use the air conditioning system in your car. Kia Ray has a hybrid system consisting of a gasoline engine with direct fuel injection (GDI) with volume 1.4 liters and 153 hp power and electric power 78 kW powered by lithium-ion batteries. The transmission is a type of CVT. Depending on road conditions, traffic to the front wheels comes from the petrol engine, electric motor or both.

These are the first official pictures of the new generation Kia Sportage. The world premiere of the car is planned for Geneva Motor Show, but apparently after developing quite spy photos, now the company ahead of the event. This car is a Kia established under the leadership of new chief designer of the Koreans, Peter Shtrayer who previously worked for Audi. Overall, the style is similar to that of the company’s new models – crossover Soul, sedan and SUV models Cadenza Sorento. At the same time the new Kia Sportage has a European look, with more attention to small details. Five-door crossover will be assembled on the same platform on which it is produced and Hyundai ix35. The new generation is longer and wider than go away, something that contributes to better comfort for the occupants. Still not many details about engine that this model will be marketed. Quite large, however, chances are the new Sportage is equipped with Hyundai that offers ih35 – diesel generating sets with capacity 1.7 and 2.0 liters in volume and petrol 1.6 and 2.0 liters.
